Far too much chilling in the Student Lounge

Sep 11, 2011 17:25

As far as Naruto had been concerned, the Student Lounge was the best place to hang out. In fact, he liked it perhaps just a little too much ( Read more... )

There was no way he was going to be able to stay awake through endless blathering about a bunch of dead people, so Sasuke decided to skip history and find somewhere quiet and undisturbed to curl up and let the sedative take over. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he had the thought that three pills in one day was probably pushing it a little, but he was way too tired to care just now ( ... )

Naruto never did things by halves, and he never really responded in the most 'normal' ways to anything, or indeed everything. It wasn't the only reason why Sasuke's firm kick to the ribcage had him yelping and falling off the couch altogether, landing hard on his ass and hissing at the pain-- blearily blinking back the sleepy feeling and hunting for his assailant.

Spotting Sasuke sat across from him on the chairs wasn't exactly a comfort. He'd already been questioned about Sasuke this morning, by two girls and a boy - and it hadn't really dawned on him that anyone might have said something. Not that they were going out-- not that he'd ever go out with Uchiha Sasuke! He was too-- Ow his ribs hurt.

"THE HELL'D YOU DO THAT FOR, TEME?"

The insult rolled off his tongue as easily as it would had he been telling the world his name, but it still left him a little alarmed.

Sasuke rolled over, pressing his face into the back of the couch so he didn't have to look at Naruto. The memories he brought back weren't entirely pleasant, and with his brain demanding dreamless unconsciousness, he just didn't have the capacity to deal with such irritations at the moment.

The nickname gave him pause, and he rolled back over just enough to shoot a lazy glare at Naruto over his shoulder. That's in the past. I'm not the person you knew back then.

"Because I want to sleep, and you snore at decibels that could puncture the eardrums of anyone within thirty feet," he said dryly. "Leave me alone."

He watched-- confused for the most part. Sasuke had gone to a private school after primary, so why the hell was he here now?

What didn't soothe his thoughts were the looks he'd given him. The way Sasuke's face contorted in expression that wasn't what he was used to. The Uchiha wasn't the happiest boy he'd known, how could he be, but he'd never been this-- this detached. Not from him anyway.

"Do not." He mumbled, pushing up off the floor with a hiss of pain, hand slipping around his chest to hold against the place Sasuke had kicked before he wandered over, sitting down on the couch beside his head. "Why should I go to class if you're not there, either anyway?"

[Before making his way to his next class, and at some point before Sasuke has turned up here, Sai sticks his head into the student room. He had been looking for Temari, wondering how her detention with - actually he never asked for that teacher's name- went.]

[But instead, all he finds is someone sleeping across some chairs. Ah, it is the other new boy. The one that Sasuke had called Naruto. And according to Itachi-sensei, he was Sasuke-kun's boyfriend.]

...

[Sai walks in, crouching beside him. This really is not a good place to sleep, if Itachi-sensei catches you, he will make good on his threat of putting you in detention for the rest of your natural life.]

Naruto-kun. [A couple of pokes at his cheek, once you wake up, be prepared to find Sai looming in your face, staring]

[The prodding is a new thing. A very new thing, and it takes Naruto's brain a fair few minutes to register that anything is happening to him at all. Sleep tends to do that to him, and he generally finds it easy to pass out where ever and when ever he needs. It has it's problems, not only because of his knack for sleep-talking.]

Three minutes-- too long... can't wait for ramen...

[Wait- Someone was talki--

The moment his eyes open he yells, scrambling so much that the chair he's on once he finally gets sat up teeters on it's legs and falls backwards, leaving Naruto with wide eyes and flailing limbs as he falls with it. The scrambling doesn't stop, and he leans forward over the fallen chair, one leg hooked over the top whilst the other falls against his side.]

What are you poking me for, weirdo!?

[He doesn't flinch, not when Naruto yells, not even when he starts flailing around like an idiot. He stands up, takes a few steps forward, and merely bends over, staring at Naruto.]

I am a weirdo? I am not the one lying on the ground within a pile of chairs like an idiot.

I was poking at you to wake you.

[The movement is surprising, and as Sai bends over he can't help but put some more distances between them, which leaves him propped up on his elbows, pouting at the boy hovering so close.]

I DON'T NEED TO WAKE UP!

[A moment later he's pressing his foot against one of Sai's legs in an attempt to push him away.]

Let me up.

[Ino leaves class five minutes early under the pretence of a quick bathroom stop, instead taking a detour off to the lounge. She'd gone with all intention to put her feet up with something cold and bubbly and maybe read a magazine until Sakura turned up for break - something about this handsome new transfer student? - but no. No. Some unidentifiable individual is taking up her footrest. :|

Even Ino's gotta admit, he's pretty cute. But if he's supposed to be Mr. Handsome Transfer Student, sadly she can't help be a tad disappointed. Slacking off the second day? Not off to a good start.]

[She's turning her pockets inside out in search of-... aha! Pulling out the marker tucked into her ponytail, she scrawls a stylish moustache onto the sleeping kid's face before stepping back to marvel at her impromptu masterpiece.

Okay, diet soda time.]

[The first he knew about having anyone else in the room with him was when he felt the tickle of something under his nose. It wasn't unusual-- he felt kinda weird all over his body sometimes, but there was something that felt wrong about this particular feeling.

Not that he'd wake up in response to it. Not immediately anyway. It takes him a few minutes, but eventually between mutterings of ramen and computer games he wakes up, blinking at the chair he found himself asleep on. This was new-- Oh, school...]

SCHOOL!?

[Instantly he's up, blinking rapidly and looking around the room. There's only some blonde girl with her hair all-- tied up weird.]

Uh... Is it lesson time?

[Spare change rattling down, a push of a button, and the can clanks to the bottom of the vending machine. She stoops over to retrieve her prize just as the room's only other occupant stirs awake. Well, less stir and more woken with a jolt. She whips out her phone to check the time, lips pursed.]

Only for another minute or s- [Apparently her timing is a fraction off, as the bell rings on prompt. She smiles, wryly.] ... No.

[Oh, she's got a kinda cool phone-- it piques his interest for all of a moment, news that the lesson is almost at an end bothers him enough as it is, but then to hear the bell a moment later is just a little too much.]

OH GOD! What'migonnado?

Wait! What are you doing here?!
