It was a...tricky situation I was in. Let's just say that there're certain people who aren't too fond of those who try to stop criminal activity. Certain people who would stoop to any level to get rid of those who defy them. [And Byrne would NEVER want the smuggling ring to target Kay in order to get at him.]

But then again, who knows what could've happened?
