Depends on how much light the room gets. If it gets a lot of light, go dark but if it gets only a little, go with the really pale green.

My room is a pale green because it's so dark.

Pale is better - makes it seem airy and light, like the ambiance of a garden. Watch the color of lightbulbs you use in your lamps, though. Some particular bulbs will make it feel a little institutional.
