Organic chemistry, I have come to realize, is equivalent to someone slicing a scalpel in the spaces between your fingers and then forcing you to crochet an afghan. Every move you make is tedious, meticulous, and horribly painful. But in the end, the atrocious, blood covered blanket could very well be the creation you are most proud of.
