Even if this was the school- and by association the Order's hospital infirmary wing, he still couldn't smoke. Not to mention Morpheus had suggested in his ever so casual way that smoking around patients was probably detrimental to their healths. He

And almost as if responding to the thought, she began to stir, letting out a sigh into the pillow. Her back injuries had been considerably lessened by Aidan's intervention, but they were still bad enough that she couldn't lay on it - she lay on her stomach instead, and rubbed her face against the pillow a little before instinctively moving a hand to rub at her eyes. "Mmmngh... hn?"

It took quite a few seconds of blinking for her to realize that this was a hospital room, and that Kazuki was sitting there, and that - holy shit they'd been attacked by a ghost hadn't they sdlfksdl. She (stupidly) tried to move a little, only for the pain in her back to remind her of why she was in a hospital, and she fell back onto the pillow.

Kazuki's head jerked up and he nearly dropped his cigarette. Grabbing wildly at it, he finally managed to get a hold of the stick of cancer and jammed it rather crookedly back into the box before stuffing the whole thing into his pants pocket. His jacket had gotten lost somewhere between them being transported and he hadn't bothered looking for it yet.

"Don't try to move. You're going to be sore for a bit."

"I noticed," she mumbled, rubbing at her eyes a bit longer before opening them to look at him. He looked tired - had he been sitting there all night with her?

"Mmm... you look tired." She closed her eyes with a sigh. "All I ever do is cause you trouble, huh..." Mei would have frowned if not for the fact he seemed to hate it when she did that, too.

"It's not your fault. Don't think that." He said rather sharply, instantly regretting the way he snapped at her. He tried again.

"Err...How do you feel?" He got up to look her over, as if he could figure it out by her physical appearance.

A sudden inspiration of smarts- Kazuki didn't seem to get them much lately, but he blamed it on the students and the damp English weather, hit him and he raised one hand hesitantly.

Kazuki felt horrible. He'd frightened her, failed to protect her, and on top of that, humiliated and embarrassed her in front of her friend. He pulled his hand back and ran it through his hair.
