Endorsements...

There isn't much call for an "in_parentheses Endorses..." post this time around, as my Ward 2 ballot is mostly uncontested. C'mon, Somerville, be more divisive!

I am directed to vote for four Aldermen-at-Large out of a roster of five (it's Alderman musical chairs!), so let's take a look at the contestants (endorsements in red)...

I got a flyer where Bruce Desmond claims to have spearheaded the revamping of the city website and telecommunications system, and if that's true, then he has my vote. The Somerville 311 system and website for making all kinds of communications with the city are really well done, and I've used it several times already.

I have no idea why his own website would be non-existent, though.

311 is great, I agree, but do you really like the website? I think it's a mess. When I wanted a sample ballot to write this post, for instance, I had to go to Departments -> Elections -> some little tiny link on the side -> look up which Ward I'm in -> back to the little tiny link -> a PDF. The day before the freakin' election they ought to have a giant link on the home page!
