Dear friends,

Once upon a time I played in this game called Stars of Al-Ashtara, written by the same intrepid team who brought us Redemption, Elanthia, and who are soon to bring us Venezia.

Stars of Al-Ashtara was the first LARP I've played in that was set in an Arabian Nights setting. And oh, what a LARP. Plots! Intrigue! Danger! Romance! Wonders! ( Read more... )

Well, I'm not sure what you generally like in your theater style games, but this one has a lot of different kinds of plots, so there's a little something for everyone. There are widget Ancient Artifact hunts, and romance plots, and political plots, and backstabbings, and I think a heist-plot, and opportunities for costumey goodness.

I think you'd find the theme and some of the immersive elements fun.

In terms of mechanics . . . weeeeeeeell . . . how'd you feel about that Malkavian Elder/Changeling character from long ago?

(Seriously, the mechanics are a little broad-based in a way that might annoy you. Hard to say, though!)
