Japanese language and bento

Feb 13, 2014 09:23

Question for learners of Japanese:
In general I think Japanese sounds are easy, the only one I have difficulties with are ryo and ryu. Is that a general problem (for German speakers) or just my personal problem?

Made a bento today with beef and fresh shiitake

Oooh. Beef looks yummy. (Which recipe is that? #predator)

As for ryo and ryu, do you mean hearing the difference or producing the difference?

You have the recipe, it was in the zip I send you. :D Spicy Sweet beef and shiitake.

Just saying them, it's not really a problem of the difference but saying them at all.

Oh! Of course. XD Hmmm, that might be a plan for the weekend then, apart from the soboro I haven't tried beef yet... Do you think that would freeze okay?

Hm, no, then I don't have that problem. Interesting that that in particular would give you trouble. The special R in general is not a problem, right?

I am not sure how the shiitake would fare. I always make stuff like that fresh in the morning. The beef of course is already cut and frozen and I put it in the fridge the evening before. And than it takes me maybe 5-10 minutes in the morning, while doing other bento stuff too.

The special R is no problem just ryo and to a lesser degree ryu. Must just be me. :D

Aha, we have the same problem xD I always had problems with ryo and ryu - no other sound but those two...

And bento looks good! Probably will start bento too soon-ish and then annoy you with lots of silly questions lol

they are the only two sounds for me too. At least I am not alone. :)

I love talking about bento making. Ask me anything!

I have lots of picks but seldom use them, I really should.

It really seems to be a bit of a German thing after all, intersting. Thanks for the input.
