Last time in "As the Doctor Spins..."

...the Harper government survives thanks to the two traditionally left parties that normally criticized it. Well, everyone is happy. Despite what Iggy and his Grits say I'm sure they're just as relieved that we averted an election than nobody wanted that will go nowhere either.

For now.

Old Jack and Gilles defend their stand as a noble cause. Support the Harper's government until the new Employment Insurance legistation passes into law. Yes, very noble cause indeed. And I have to admit, I was very amused by Iggy's quip about Jack and Gilles going up the hill with Harper...

But this whole situation just... well... it just damn pisses me off. The PMS isn't helping matters either. Here you see our political parties dancing an intricate startegic tango in a game of chess using the lives and the future of us the common people as pawns. And I'm personally sick and tired of how these guys are acting like our lives is some kind of game.

I hate Harper for being such a hulking inflexible bully who refuses to play nice until someone finally twists his arm and threatens him with a game over chip.

I hate Iggy for acting like a damn opportunist politician and looking like a sulking little boy having a tantrum because he wants a turn and isn't able to get it.

I hate Jack for killing the NDPs integrity by kissing Steve's ass in the guise of "We're only doing this for the unemployed people" act when in reality, of course an election now would spell a lose-lose situation for the NDP.

I hate... well... I don't really hate the Bloc. I was a bit taken aback by Gilles with this vote. A little amused by the irony in fact. But right after this, they seemed to be back to normal, vowing to vote with the Liberals in a no-confidence vote in October to bring down the current government in power. Oh well... it's a typical day around the Bloc, so no surprise there.

I mean, to be quite honest... I'm very skeptical that any of these four parties have any genuine interest in helping this country out of our economic slump. If they had any interest in it at all, they will all be working together. Sometimes one can't help but wish that we can just customize and assemble our own leader.

Let's see... here's Ina-chan's wish list specifications for a custom leader...

Obama's bod and good looks, with Trudeau's charm and charisma, Mulroney's ability to lead and bring people together regardless of political affiliations, Rae's honesty and good sport, and maybe a touch of Dion's idealism, smarts and geeky sense of humor

Stephane was painted in such a bad light as a political leader thanks to his lack of charisma and the Tories' successful negative propagandas, but I personally think that Stephane is a man who is way ahead of his time. Many years from now, I think our great grandchildren will look back in history and shake their heads at us for being idiots in not realizing Stephane Dion's dream earlier and taking a big gamble at a future they barely salvaged.
