The rebels were cornered in the capital city of West Pointe. “Find a way out! We have to get as many people to safety as we can,” fifteen-year-old Resistance Colonel Aeron Shiori yelled to her men.
“Rodger,” the soldiers replied in consensus. This war has been raging on for many years. A war for your basic freedoms such as speech, expression, and many others that you may take for granted in your time. Are currently at stake, can you imagine that in your lifetime? A single family took a stand against the government who were creating these laws. This was the Shiori family. Many people supported the Shiori family’s cause; some even joined them on the battlefield. However, the war hasn’t been in their favor. The government has great fire power that the Resistance cannot fight against, however they still fight on.
“Sister, do you have any kind of strategy to get everyone out of here safely,” Aeron’s brother Axel asked. Axel is Brigadier, one rank higher than his younger sister. He looked at his sister and could tell what her answer is before she could respond. There was no escape, nothing. “I see. Then let’s at least go down fighting,” Axel said. Aeron looked at her brother her eyes filled with sorrow and regret. Today, everything that her family has been fighting for could vanish in an instant. The siblings have already lost their mother in this god forsaken war and nearly their father as well. They looked ahead across the open grass and see nothing but dead bodies a blood, both from the Resistance and from the government.
“There must be something we can do! Something, anything,” Aeron yelled clenching her fists. The colonel looked up at the sky and saw a giant airship fly across the area. There was something that caught her eye. Something made her entire body going cold in fear. Aeron’s eyes widened when she noticed what the airship was carrying. “Everyone run!! The airship is going to drop bombs in any second,” she yelled. All of the soldiers replied with a nod and tried to run, however it was too late. The bombs began to be dropped after Aeron yelled to her comrades. Screams of friend and foe alike were heard by Aeron’s ears. One scream made Aeron freeze in fear and total dread. She quickly turned around and saw her brother, his body, bloody and covered with dirt from the earth. “Axel,” Aeron yelled running to her brother. When Aeron was only a few feet away from her brother she heard an explosion, and she was airborne. The final thing she could remember was the sound of her brother’s weak voice yelling her name and feeling his hand holding hers.
This day was known as the Shi Massacre, the end of the Resistance, the end of the seemingly pointless war in the government’s point of view. The government had no idea that there was one survivor of that fateful day. Now nineteen-year-old former colonel Aeron Shiori is rehabilitated, and training a new resistance in her company to take down the corrupt government, avenge her family, and regain our lost freedom. The stage is set in the year 2064, in West Pointe City. The second revolution has begun, who shall prevail? It is in destiny’s hands now.
