Ugh.....I know the feeling. Glad I am now with hot water and not steam. I was always so bad at checking the water level monthly on the system. Can you add an auto-fill to yours?

Probably, doubt we will though. I'm in the basement often, just hadn't checked it in a few weeks. heh.

Oh dear. Sorry to hear that. That's no fun at all. I thought those things were attached to the water supply directly? Did a pipe freeze?

It's connected, but doesn't automatically fill.just have to turn a handle and wait a few hours for the house to come back up to a reasonable temperature.
