Backstreet in San Francisco - Night 1

Jul 06, 2010 00:48

After the Pride performance, we made it back to the hotel to freshen up and regroup before dinner and the concert. We ate at the Millennium Restaurant, San Francisco's premier vegetarian restaurant (and also the name of the Backstreet Boys' record-breaking album lmfao. Sarah planned this). It was my first time eating at a vegetarian restaurant, and I was pleasantly surprised! I/we had a spinach salad and macadamia-crusted tofu. What a delicious meal courtesy of Sarah's loving boyfriend.

Sidenote: prior to the show (actually before I left for Denver even), it was uncertain if I'd be going to the Sunday night show because I had originally only bought GA tickets for Monday. At the Napa event, Sarah won the raffle which included 2 tickets to any show plus 1 platinum VIP. Something came up with her friend she was going to take so she gave the ticket to me, God bless her heart. Basically Sunday was See-BSB-for-Free Day! lol. And because the tickets were supposed to be from their personal reserve, we assumed they were reserved seats so we dressed nicely, took our time with dinner, and got to the Warfield 10 minutes before the show started.

Except when we got there, the tickets waiting for us were GA. We looked at each other with the most hardcore FML faces known to fan. (Another sidenote: the last GA BSB show we both went to was Hollywood during the Unbreakable tour, which was fucking CRAZY, hence why we hated our lives.) But thankfully San Francisco ≠ Hollywood (in more ways than one, but we're not getting into that), and the crowd wasn't as bad as our previous GA experience. Mainly because in Hollywood the floor was all one level. At the Warfield there was the floor level right below the stage, then there were a few stairs leading up to the second tier (if you will) of the floor, then a few more stairs for a third tier. We found a spot in front of the soundbooth which was on the second tier, so we were at the same level as the stage. We were behind some people, but had no problem seeing them. And because there was a walkway behind us, there was no shoving from behind.

Their opening act, Christian TV, kind of really sucked. It consists of a guy with a long mohawk so it looked like a mullet and a DJ. Now the DJ was really cute, but the singer - not so much. We were so happy that before he performed his third song, he announced it was his last song. I wish he mentioned their name was Christian TV more though.

The Boys were amazing as usual. Nick's hot, Brian's adorable, AJ's voice never fails to get me, Howie...was there too. (Hi, old habits die hard.) After the concert, the rest of the night was spent looking at my pictures, interrupting Sarah's train of thought with hot pictures of hoodie-less Nick, trying to get a game plan for Monday, and apologizing to Sarah for all the unflattering pictures of AJ my camera didn't break from capturing. (Seriously, I apologized 10 times. At least.)

I took some videos because at times it was easier to watch the show from my camera. The perks of being 5'3". They're not the best video/sound quality.

PDA. This song has definitely grown on me (and hopefully Sarah and Betty lmfao) since seeing it live. Mainly because of Nick's thrusting the choreography.

LTL. I will never not love this choreography.

Christian TV. LOL.

I really loved they had "BACKSTREET'S BACK ALRIGHT" on the screen :)

Your PDA-A-A.

This is us.

One of the things I liked about where we were standing was that we got a view of the whole stage.

Beginning another Nick photoshoot.

Mmm.

I'll be the one ♥

lmao

Feet stuck to the ground

This is the shape of Brian's heart.

And this is Brian in that outfit of sex.

AJ fucking the air during Brian's verse in You Need Love.

Never wanna hear you sayyyyy

Leaving me for the second time

I loved those stupid intros/outros/mini-movies.

How many spelling errors can you spot?

And an obligatory, unzoomed iPhone pic for comparison.
