.. Well, my NaNoWriMo project this year is unlikely to reach the 50K mark. i got sidetracked the weekend mom and i ran away to Ocean Shores and didn't really find my way back. Maybe what he needs to know is that you don't give up, and you look for new ways to help you reach your standards... I think it is good for kids to know that adults don't always succeed. They need to see how people cope with it and find new plans of attack.

Oh, I struggle with this constantly. I go into a project at full steam and tend to drop things within 3 mos. I'm dealing with the guilt of the boys growing up around that by telling myself that at least they see it's "okay" to do that--my parents always made me feel like a freak. "Oh, look--B's going to take up karate/volleyball/piano/(nearly everything I could think of to do in that little town)--I give it 2mos until she quits! Or do you think she'll even make it that long?!" :P
