Tomorrow... a time of balance... a time of memory

Tomorrow is the summer solstice... the time when day and night are balanced and then the scales tip and the days get shorter. It is odd to think of the days growing shorter and winter approaching when the heat of the year is just beginning. But, it shows ... even in the bloom of life, death is approaching

Thank you. That year the solstice was also Father's Day. It is an odd... emotional thing... it reminds me to remember him and the good things... not just the loss... although that is there, too.

I read this on my phone, because my internet has been down, and I've been thinking about it ever since. I think this is so beautifully written and it's made me think about those people I consider myself close to but maybe don't speak too very frequently...and I'm now going to make that a priority. So thank you for this. *hug*

In particular, my dad and I have a r'ship like that (where we save things up for a few weeks and then talk for a while)...rather, we used to. Now he has txt and he prefers that to talking. I think I'm still going to try to catch him on the phone once a week, though...
