Working up to being a DIY bride...

... or, at least, as Sandra Lee on Food Network calls it, a "semi-homemade" bride.  Between the two jobs, and with only 3 people (other than myself) living in my city actually being invited to the Wedding Redux, being 100% DIY just isn't in my stars.  Not to mention that DIY doesn't always have to be "cheap."  Martha Stewart DIY, for instance, LOL.

*hugs*

I hate for you that you can't have the wedding/reception that you had envisioned, but I really think that this New orleans/Big Easy wedding will be just perfect for you and C!

We did all the paper stuff except for the invites on a home computer with kits we bought from office Depot. So that part of it is totally DIY-able.

Let me know what I can do to help from three states away!

Girl, don't be crazy: your wedding plan sounds A-W-E-S-O-M-E. :D I still have some of the pretty white and sparkly hair things that Cat made for me, if you want them. What's your color scheme? OMFG, I cannot wait to see your pictures!

Something in your hands as you walk: what about a parasol or a feathery fan? How gorgeous an image would that make?

It's so funny that you ask about a fan- my first hope was to use an old handpainted silk fan my great-grandmother carried in Cuba. My mom has deemed that it is too fragile to open though, so we've scrapped that one as I'd hate to be responsible for ruining it. I am thinking about using feathers though- not sure why but I just think feathers could look so good!!!!! I'd love ot use feathers in the centerpieces too, but apparently that's become such a big fashion thing now that they aren't particularly cheap- still playing around though :)

Do you have any pics posted of the spraklyt hings? I am all about sparkly stuff!!!! :-D
