Back-logged post from Tuesday...
Wow.
That's pretty much all I can say.
Anything more would be utterly inappropriate. I'll just say I was right about a couple of things, lol. Usually when I say I am going to do something, I get lazy and procrastinate until I forget about it, or until the motivation fades away. Or my own inhibitions stop me for pursuing whatever it is that I want - fear of failure, rejection, self-sabotage, whatever. But when I really set my mind to something, sometimes things just fall into place.
Not to make it sound like this was merely a conquest, although in many ways that's how it started out, but once things fell into place it quickly turned into something very different. Whatever the case, the planets must have been aligned in my neck of the sky last night. Wow.
Wow. Yeah that pretty much covers it all. Now I have to try and attempt to concentrate on things I need to do today. This will be challenging, lol.
There surely is a word to describe my state of mind, but I'll be damned if the English language isn't failing me on this one. "Wow" is the only thing I can come up with. And that just seems so primitive... lol.
Ha - and you people think I am incapable of being cheerful or cracking a smile. It just takes something extraordinary, that's all. I am down right chipper damnit. Somebody smack me quick!
Followed by a post on Wednesday entitled "Invasion of the Body Snatchers".
Greetings all.
Day 2 of my good mood continues. (Or is it day 3? It started on Monday, but I can't remember if it was before or after midnight. Ah, who cares? Time is irrelevant.) Still a bit giddy. Gah. This is ruining my dark, brooding persona, lol. Somebody call the Men In Black quick! I think I've been body snatched and replaced with an alien replicant of sorts. (Wow - I really am a sci-fi geek, aren't I?)
My day has actually not been too bad, besides the sweltering heat and the massive back up on the canyon which caused me to completely miss my entire class. (Well I would have been somewhat late anyways, I had a hard time getting going this morning, I'm still pretty wore out. Not fully recovered yet I guess, lol.) I got my money stuff sorted out, so I'm set for about the next 3 months. That gives me time to figure out what I want to do and find a decent job. Also gives me the time off to do a little bit of traveling out of town for some of the hot summer concerts and to spend time with family and friends. I might even go to a couple more shows than I had planned, considering that I have additional motivation to see at least one act that is touring this summer. Actually, I think those shows are in the fall. I was just going to one of their shows, then I was offered passes for another show since I will be in town anyways, and then I found out that I will be free on the date of the Vegas show, so if I can get tix or passes I might try for three. I've been dying to go to Vegas for some time now, I have no idea why, but I've been babbling about it for months. I think it's an L.A. thing. You move to L.A. for the excitement, and then after a while it gets kind of boring, so the closest alternative is Vegas. I just want to play the slots and see an Elvis impersonator, that's all - nothing too crazy. But yeah, might as well go there when something else is going on, that way I will be less likely to blow all my money.
I was very happy and somewhat surprised to get a phone call from someone today. I dont know how he found the time to call, considering that he is preparing to leave town tomorrow for a few weeks, but he managed somehow. He told me to keep in touch with him while he's gone. That was so sweet! What a doll! I had hoped to hear from him, but I wasn't sure that I would, given the fact that he is extremely busy, and he is a guy, and I gave up a long time ago on trying to predict the behavior of any member of the male species. But apparently there are some out there that actually say what the mean and do what they say. He must be an alien. Well, I guess that works out well, what with my being switched out with a more cheerful alien replicant and all, lol. LOL. Maybe we were abducted and switched out on the same night? I do seem to recall some missing time and a period of lightheadedness, but I blamed that on other occurences, lol. I really wish I could see him before he leaves, but he's swamped and he flies out pretty early in the AM so that's unlikely. But it's ok, he'll be back in a few weeks, and he said he will see me then. *sigh* Well at least July is rapidly approaching, and I will be uber-busy with tons of concerts and 4 sets of friends flying in to visit. The NY/Phily/Sacramento diaspora to my apartment will soon commence, lol. (Don't worry Trish, your ass will be out of sweltering Brooklyn and sweating in sweltering L.A. soon enough, lol. Hopefully the heat spell will let up before you get out here.)
In other news,I got my new bank card in the mail today. Yay I have plastic again! Had to block my old number after someone got a hold of it and starting charging shit to my account. The bank put back most of the money, but what a freakin' nightmare. There is an innermost rung of hell reserved for those who commit identity theft! And while you're at it, if you are going to be so fucking retarded as to steal someone's identity and credit card number, wouldn't it make more sense to do that to someone with more money than me? Sheesh. It's like when you hear on the news that someone robs a KFC. How much money can they have??? All the sell is chicken!!! And the occasional biscuit and side of coleslaw. But still. If you are going to risk doing the time make it worth it, fucker! Hope ya'll had fun with that $350 that was in there, lol. Thank god I had taken my rent money out already, and as soon as my other money is deposited I'm taking that shit out too and putting it another account, just in case they have my checking account number too. Urgh! What a hassle.
I got a few new cds on Saturday, haven't had a chance to listen to them all yet I replaced some music that I had either lost or only had on cassette. (Remember cassettes kiddies? Some of you dont, while some of us remember the 8 track! God I feel ancient, lol.) Most recent conversion from cassette to cd in my collection - Social Distortion. (The good, one, lol, j/k, they are all good, but specifically the self-titled one.) God that is a great album! It really takes me back. I also got White Zombie - Astro Creep, and Scum of the Earth (Riggs band, the one that Skyla plays for). Let me tell you it has been Zombie week, you don't even know the half of it. You wouldn't believe me if I told you, so just nevermind. *LMFAO - OMG, where else have I heard that phrase recently? LOL. I'm gonna keel over laughing. I wish I could let you in on the joke but I just can't. LOL. *Deep breath* So anyways, the Scum of the Earth album is so freakin' good!!! You must check it out. I looked to see if they had Panic Channel in stores, but they did not. I think they have a cd, I'll have to check out their website. Ooh I have plastic again, I can order it if it exists. Woot!
If you have yet to check out Panic Channel, don't make me smack you. Do it!!! www.myspace.com/panicchannel They are so freakin' good. And while you are at it, check out this other incredible band, The Evacuation Plan. They dont have a cd available yet, but they are working on it. I will not even get started going on about how much I like this band, because I will never shut up if I do. LOL. And you know how much I can type, lol. So yeah, check it out - www.myspace.com/evacuationplanofficialpage
Wow. There is an electric toilet on tv. WTF? It is the damndest looking thing I've ever seen. Is nothing ever good enough people? I mean seriously, some things are just fine the way they are. IT'S A FUCKING TOILET FOR CHRIS'SAKES!!! Sorry, butt that's just absolutely assenine, pun intended, lol. Allegedly it's more environmentally friendly, but still. All we need is one more thing to use up electricity. Jesus.
Well on that bizarre note, I leave you now.
