Blending

I have an essay to write before Monday, so of course all of a sudden I am feeling very creative and want to do lots of things like knitting and cooking.

I just made some avocado houmous and it is so tasty on toast - you must try it too.

For some reason I was totally unaware of avocado houmous until now. It's really yummy, I keep wanting to eat more of it!

I used to have something similar whereby I'd imagine that someone would try and stuff food down my throat and I'd gag. Mmmm.

You say 'used to have' so I do hope you've got over that. It's a horrible thing to imagine.

Once, when I was wee, I was using a hand mixer to mix frosting or some such thing... and a chunk of my hair got caught in it. And got pulled out. So I had a little bald spot on my forehead for a while :(

That said, the recipe looks great. Sometimes I buy avocado hummus (that's how I spell it, anyway) at the supermarkey but I'd love to make it myself!

Ouch! Must remember to always tie my hair back when blending. Oh, and I love it when people use the word 'wee' with that meaning!

my old college tutor was rumoured to have lost one and a half fingers when using a blender. this therefor shows you have reason to worry, although i'm not 100% certain it's true... another tutor told a friend of a friend.

The rumor had to have started somewhere! I knew a kid in primary school who lost the tip of his finger while ice skating, from them on whenever I went I'd have my hands in fists the whole time. Pity I can't do that when using the blender!

how would you get your face far enough down into a blender to do that though? fingers though i can imagine, so perhaps you should fear that instead ;)

I have a hand blender, so there is always potential waving about that could happen. Anyway, this is an irrational fear - it doesn't need to be possible!

ahh yeah. well as long as you dont go licking it or have a bizarre accident where you trip whilst holding it and your tongue sticking out, i think you should be fine ;)
