AE Boots Help

Dec 02, 2009 09:51

So I want to buy these American Eagle boots from Payless, but I seem to remember that the AE brand runs a little small. They have the wides in my size in stock, but I'm worried that the shaft will be too big on the wides.

I have these boots. They seem to run a bit snug in the calf, but not majorly small. I can measure them when I get home, if that would help you any. They're comfortable boots, and seem to hold up well even with the sueded fabric. I will say they can look a bit...Peter Pan-esque with leggings and the wrong dress, but that doesn't keep me from wearing them.

I'm guessing it's okay that I answered this, since I'm not a member. Hope so, anyway.

thanks!

how do they fit in the foot part? were you able to wear your normal size or did you have to go up a half size?

oh, don't worry about the shaft measurements. if the calf of the boot is a bit snug, it should fit me fine.

Welcome! I went up a half size. They were thin in the ankle, to me anyway, and I like to wear thick fuzzy socks with my boots. They still require some tugging to get over my fuzzy socks, but they're totally comfortable when I get them on so that may be more of a fabric friction issue. They were just a bit short to me too, in the actual shoe part, that's another reason I went up a half size.

When I say a bit snug, I mean that for slouchy boots, they're not as big as I expected. I have a bit of trouble getting boots to fit tight enough, when I look for fitted knee high boots, but slouchy ones I expect them to have a bit more room. I guess I expected them to slouch more, if that makes sense.

I think I own them, my calves are approximately 17 1/2 inches, and I usually can't get boots from department stores on, but the suede ones I found in Payless did fit nicely. However my ankles aren't that wide, and I did have to stick arch supports in them.
