A spurtle is an old Scottish cooking implement, and I just found out today, it's the award given to the champion porridge maker in Scotland. I've never been much of a fan of porridge, but I think that's partly because my Mum was not the best cook in the world, and it came out a bit solid and salty

Anyway, possibly a maple, walnut and banana variation would be nice. Or perhaps a cranberry yoghurt or something. I'm thinking...

After I wrote it, I thought, ooh, er... ;-) I had visions of pics with you with strategically placed mounds of porridge porridge - that would liven it up! :-)

You'll have to share pictures of your spurtle with your LJ friends - the one you use to make your delicacies in the restaurant, of course - what else did you think I meant?

Apropo of nothing, a young, built, bearded, hairy chested guy in a flannel shirt and a kilt just sat next to me in the coffeeshop and I am blushing so furiously I must be GLOWING.
