And here are my personal favourites.

Estonia - my definite favourite so far, and got through to the final - impressive voice and dress.

Belgium - an interesting minor tune. Didn't get through to the final, but was fun.

Finland - got through to the final. Perky and entertaining.

Denmark - got through to the final. Strong manly bearded Vikings ( Read more... )

My tablet now allows me to watch youtube, so I tracked these down. (Your links won't work in Canada.) I liked Denmark's, especiaĺly since I discovered it's a pacifist song, in spite of its video with all those severed heads and hanging bodies. From the TV series, I'm assuming.

Sorry for the links not working in Canada, but I'm glad they entertained you - or that Denmark's did, at least. The Denmark song is one of the few I'm actually humming or remembering several days later. :) I think the video is often quite different from the final Eurovision song contest in terms of staging and whatever.

To be perfectly honest, very few of the songs impressed me as being at all singable, the winning entry not excepted.

I'm pretty sure I saw the staged Denmark version too, but the video was, umm, graphic. Sort of determined me not to watch Vikings even if I get the chance.

I can't imitate chickens, either...

Vikings really doesn't sound my thing. What I need to try, I'm told, is Korean Odyssey (a new Journey to the West variant). Maybe I should look into how to sign up with Netflix after all, even if I've avoided it so far. But it may involve upgrading my television and getting a new satellite tv contract and all sort of work. Bah.
