Title: You're My Guilty Pleasure
Fandom: Supernatural/Dexter
Pairing: Dexter Morgan / Sam Winchester
Theme set: Alpha
Rating: Heavy R, for some of them.
Warning[s]: Slash, some graphic sex, some graphic violence
Notes: This is not part of the Incarnadine Demand storyline, though it does reference some of the things that have/will happen(ed). Look at it as a sort of sneak peek/glimpse at how I see them as a pairing =)
#01 - Comfort
When Dexter held him in the after-glow (his nerves sizzling like charred wicks), when Sam could feel the blood drying at the corners of his mouth, it became almost alright to be a monster, like him.
#02 - Kiss
It was an intimacy Dexter fumbled with; seemed he had no problem letting Sam lick the blood off the inside of his thighs, but a simple kiss was something all together different.
#03 - Soft
He expected the bites, the burn when those powerful hands closed around his throat and the splitting-shock of being pushed into too soon; but what Sam never expected, what always caught him off guard, was when Dexter’s fingers drifted slow and careful down his cheek.
#04 - Pain
Though Dexter always denied being at the mercy of human emotion, Sam could have sworn there was something jagged in his gaze when he carefully questioned the peculiar color of his mother’s eyes in her mug shots.
#05 - Potatoes
Dexter could skin slice and chop with best of them, but it was seldom potatoes at the mercy of his butcher’s hands; Sam smiled, it had been a while since Dexter cooked for him.
#06 - Rain
Sam could blame the sudden Miami storm for pushing him into Dexter and Rita’s quiet white-walled home, but not for pushing him down to the cool white-red sheets.
#07 - Chocolate
“Who’s the extra donut for?” Masuka asked as he snatched his usual apple-cheese fritter from the Dexter’s open bakery box, just before a tall man in a slick FBI suit waltzed in and plucked up the single chocolate donut; Dexter and Sam shared a secret smile because he knew more about each other than their favourite kinds of donut.
#08 - Happiness
It was something that normally alluded them both (Dexter because he doubted he could feel it, Sam because he thought it was undeserved) but as they lay alone, still on the cool motel sheets, they found it together and fumbled with their uneasy surprise at the simplicity of the happiness.
#09 - Telephone
When their respective hunts separate them, Dexter is particularly careful to keep his phone at full charge, and meticulously check every missed call.
#10 - Ears
Dexter never whimpered, or so he claimed, until Sam figured out just where he was sensitive.
#11 - Name
Sam Winchester hid himself under so many false names; everything from make-believe agents to police officer’s and priests, but it was only Dexter that could call to him without speaking any name at all.
#12 - Sensual
He was starting to see sex in the way Dexter killed them; in how the knife flew, in how he stripped the bodies and wrapped them in plastic that kept no secrets, and in the hungry almost yellow gleam in his eyes as his victims died under his hands.
#13 - Death
Sam had learned the reeking smell of death over years of ruthless hunting, but it was only after he met Dexter Morgan that learned that demise could be so clean.
#14 - Sex
It had been easier, in the beginning, to pretend it was only about drinking that sweet demon-taint blood, but it had been a lie; Sam was slowly beginning to realize that his addiction was not only to Dexter’s blood, but his scent and his mouth, his hooded eyes and dark, purring voice.
#15 - Touch
The intimacy was not lost on Sam as he opened the box and ran his fingers along the neat rows of blood speckled glass; Dexter was trying so bravely to conceal his apprehension, and so Sam softly murmured as his fingers ghosted the slides “Wow, Dex… you really are a good hunter.”
#16 - Weakness
They had both worked so hard to become flawless hunters, but they had to forgive each other for preventing just that; they couldn’t be perfect with such an obvious weakness for one another.
#17 - Tears
The picture of his mother’s eyes tinted demon’s amber hadn’t phased him at all, in fact, Dexter didn’t react at all until Sam gingerly wiped the tear away with the pad it of this thumb; it was only then Dexter looked alarmed.
#18 - Speed
It wasn’t the roar of the engine for the lash of the wind that pleased them, but the heavy purring apprehension of what they were rushing towards.
#19 - Wind
The plastic sheets stirred as the wind crept through the crevices of the old shack, and Sam turned on the balls of his feet, shot gun pointed to nothing; Dexter’s smiled glowed, lit from the floodlights gleaming off the open steaming chest of his kill as he purred “don’t worry Sam, I never get caught red handed.”
#20 - Freedom
“What’s the matter, Sam? You’re shaking…” he’d never before had the freedom to say that he needed the blood more than anything, because the withdrawal was getting too much.
#21 - Life
Even though Sam had explained it so many times, Dexter had a hard time understanding the existence of ghosts; why would a soul cling so feverishly to an existence that meant only pain?
#22 - Jealousy
When Dexter killed he shared an intimacy with his victims (carefully peeled off their clothes and wrapped their bodies in plastic, collected photos, became familiar with the private details of their lives and taunted them, almost mouth to mouth) and sometimes, Sam couldn’t watch.
#23 - Hands
“Here,” Dexter took the small flaying knife from Sam as they bustled about in hunt-preparation; he replaced the weapon with a heavy-handled, thick bladed knife and murmured, with a tiny curve to his grin “you have big hands, this knife is more suited for you.”
#24 - Taste
Sam squeezed his eyes shut as he felt Dexter’s pulse throb through the bottom of his thick leaking member, clawing through the seconds until finally, finally his came, and the edge dulled from his ravenous craving.
#25 - Devotion
“He’s a monster,” Dean hissed, but Sam didn’t miss a beat before shooting back with a stubborn “if that’s true, than so am I.”
#26 - Forever
“Hey, don’t give me that look… I’ll stay with you to the end, no matter how quickly it comes.”
#27 - Blood
It meant to much to both of them, governed everything they did; Dexter was a monster born of it, and Sam was a monster destined to drown in it.
#28 - Sickness
He saw, in the weeks that they drove and drove, that Dexter needed to kill as badly as he needed to drink; the withdrawal was just as ugly.
#29 - Melody
Dexter learned to fall asleep with the sounds of blazing horns and muffled motel sex in place of steady waves and quiet Miami wind; Sam’s snores muffle most of it, anyway.
#30 - Star
Sam knows Dexter doesn’t like the attention, but as he flipped through the glossy paged, full color book detailing the crimes of the famous ‘Bay Harbour Butcher’, he can’t help feeling a little proud that he’s dating a celebrity.
#31 - Home
Sam had struggled with the guilt of being the reason Dexter left his quiet quaint little Miami home, until he saw the placid, contented expression on his face as they sat together in the Impala’s back seats, fighting off the urge to nap.
#32 - Confusion
It was the look on Dexter’s face after he said it that confused Sam; the man had learned so many careful ways to tip-toe around responding to ‘I love you’ (curtesy of his short lived, fake-sweetener-marriage with Rita), but when Sam let it slip Dexter couldn’t respond in any of the ways he had practiced so well.
#33 - Fear
The first time Dexter had seen the wispy black-eyed remains of an angry human soul (ghost just seemed to corny, to contrived to properly cover it) produced in him the same shade of terror Sam had felt when he first watched his Dexter kill; how many of these creatures had le left behind, born from his compulsion to kill?
#34 - Lightning/Thunder
It was the lightening, Sam assured himself, that made Dexter’s eyes look so dangerously yellow.
#35 - Bonds
It didn’t matter that Sam didn’t know the implications of Dexter’s addiction, or the way in which in manifested; only that they both shared the drive for tainted blood, and that he was not alone.
#36 - Market
Sam had to wait until Dean was distracted with the pretty store clerk before he discretely tossed a bottle of cherry-lube into their basket; he wasn’t in the mood for yet another stranger to assume him and his brother were partners.
#38 - Gift
While Dexter knew he was easy enough to shop for (knives, power tools, and plastic sheets were all on his wish list) he was totally at a loss, starring at the frost-kissed shop windows; did normal people have this much trouble Christmas shopping?
#39 - Smile
Although Dexter had many practiced and contrived smiles, it was the one that hung crooked on his mouth after a night of rapid-loving making (or swift ruthless killing) that Sam was growing fond of.
#40 - Innocence
Although the man could see sinister intentions in any mortal as clear as day, Sam found that Dexter could be a little slow when he was hinting that he wanted to get laid.
#41 - Completion
Dexter has to think carefully about what all of those little touches mean (a hand on his shoulder, on the small of his back, on the nape of his neck) and though the answer is simple, if often alludes him, and he’s reduced to asking Sam why he bothers.
#42 - Clouds
There was days when the clouds are thick and the cold is heavy, and Dexter’s body misses the warm Miami climate; he compensates for the missing heat by sleeping skin-pressed to Sam, which is unfortunate because it means Sam gets very little sleep at all.
#43 - Sky
“Looking for something?” Dexter questioned, as Sam’s eyes drifted up, but his gaze returned to Dexter and he looked strangely sombre, murmuring a quiet “no.”
#44 - Heaven
Dexter had found heaven at about the same time he learned of the existence of hell; hell was a different plain all together where as heaven was in the backseat of his car, under Sam’s skin.
#45 - Hell
Dexter had never believed it existed, but the assurance that it did and he had not yet been sucked into its gapping jaws was a good deal more frightening then anything else; he had asked Sam what sort of god would create something like him and let it run free, but he had turned away without answering.
#46 - Sun
“Hey!” Sam protested as Dexter plucked the sunglasses off his face, but he simply smirked an muttered something about not wanting to be recognized, leaving Sam to squint.
#47 - Moon
When the moon was fat and full Dexter was always ready to bleed something, and it turned out so was Sam.
#48 - Waves
“Going to miss the waves?” Sam questioned, finding Dexter with his toes in the sand on the eve before they left Miami; “Going to miss a place to hide the bodies,” he returned, climbing back into his shoes.
#49 - Hair
Dexter was frowning as he thumbed through a few glossy photos, and when Sam questioned he only responded with a mutter of ‘his hair being longer’ before leaving the photos of Harrison on the table, and heading outside.
#50 - Supernova
It never happens all at once; there’s slow steady swelling and a consuming burn that lasts much longer, and feels much better then when it all ends, and Sam finally comes hard over Dexter’s curled pumping fingers.
