Oh God, I've been on US-30 in Pennsylvania in the middle of the night. It might have been the most frightening driving experience of my life. Up and down the Appalachians, switchback after switchback, fear-inducing RUNAWAY TRUCK LANE sign after sign - and, to top it all off, perhaps the strangest collection of roadside billboards in the world. It's the only place in the world you can see three consecutive signs for Mennonite Bible institute signs, followed by an ad for the skeeviest nudie bar you've ever heard of.

It's pretty funny though that these nude bars are in double wide trailers just strewn in valleys off the highway. I love that part.

I went to college in Lancaster, so have made that Lancaster to DC drive many times.

Enjoy your time here!

Happy late birthday.

And as far as scary driving, try taking 64 from Virginia on Christmas Eve when it's snowing and every 2 miles theres an accident...

Word of advice as I've taken 64 many times? Just take the toll road in W Virginia. The way around is pretty, but its a lot slower.
