So, Christmas, hunh? Sounds like it's just some damned excuse to give things away. Besides, I never could stand parties anyway. Better that the whole thing's over, means I don't have to listen to those idiotic songs anymore. 'Peace on earth and goodwill to man'? Nonsense. Ain't no such thing ( Read more... )

[So it's a week late because Squall has no imagination and it took him forever to actually make a decision and he and Seifer never did gift-giving back home anyway, but--

Eventually a package finds its way to Seifer's apartment, and in it is a hardcover copy of T.H. White's The Once and Future King, which isn't The Sorceress's Knight but is kind of similar? Maybe? Squall never read the damn thing; maybe he'd have been a little more prepared for things if he had.

There is a card, and it says 'Happy Birthday' in plain print and is not signed.]

[Seifer is honestly surprised to see a present turn up on his doorstep. He hadn't been expecting anyone to get him anything, mostly since no one ever has before.

So after he's unwrapped the thing and carefully perused the card for any signs of personality, he comes to the conclusion that Rinoa must have sent it, since he's pretty sure Squall wouldn't have shifted himself to something so nice.

And thus the book is put carefully where he'll get around to it in fairly short order.]
