Arthur/Eames anonymous March 26 2011, 22:29:35 UTC
Arthur and Eames are in love and decide to meet for dinner but Arthur doesn't show. In fact Arthur has totally disappeared. Eames tries to find him but fails. So, not wanting to believe that Arthur is dead, he goes to the cafe/restaurant they were supposed to meet up in every morning and stays until closing time, hoping Arthur would show and Eames did this until the day he died an old man.

OH god, all I can think of Futurama with Fry's dog. And it's so sad, and then it's even more sad with Eames!!!

Disclaimer: I'm not the anon who had a tentative claim on this. I just saw the prompt, and - and then this happened. It's tiny, but I hope you like it, OP! <3 The title is a line from a poem by Emily Dickinson. Concrit allowed. :)

Through Centuries of NerveHe comes in every day for breakfast, and stays until closing time. He plays guessing games with the waiters; what he ends up ordering over the course of the day keeps changing, depending on his mood, the time of year, the weather ( ... )

Eames' patient waiting for Arthur-one way or another-makes me wibble. This is sad, but still seems kind of ... Hopeful? I don't know, but I really like this, anon.

Oh the lump in my throat... It hurts but I don't want it to be gone, either.

The tone in this is wonderfully melancholy, even though Eames doesn't regret waiting for so long, you can feel that longing and it's painful. Wonderful job.

Do you mind if this is posted in a kink meme roundup at eames_arthur?
