When Ariadne gets bored at night she goes around the city and spray paints beautiful graffiti. Someone starts photographing her work and pinning it up around their work station.

I'm normally anti-grafitti, but I really like this prompt.

Seconded!

*holds up her hand* I'll claim it! I think this prompt is so beautiful and now that I've halfway written and fully plotted it (making the chance of me deleting and obliterating parts of the story unlikely) I should have it up either tonight or tomorrow. (It'll depend on if I want to have someone read over it first.) So rest assured, good or not, someone will fill it :D

p.s. I hope you don't mind but I took the 'when she’s bored’ and added ‘but also when she needs an escape’. Sorry?

I'm not the anon who claimed this, which means there's another fill coming (hurrah!), but I've written a fill for this here. It morphed slightly in the telling, and...um. I don't know what else to say about it.

Oh my goodness...this is beautiful! More than I ever expected, and I love the spin you put on it. Thank you so much!

I have to admit, I think you've turned me in to a little bit of an Ariadne/Yusuf shipper, too. <3

Thank you! Always glad if I can spread a little Ari/Yusuf love. And the prompt was wonderful--I went in a bit of a different direction with it, but I didn't intend to--I think there's plenty to explore just in the prompt itself. I just tend to roam.

Fill: She Won't Sleep At Night [1/6] anonymous June 20 2011, 12:02:21 UTC
Hey, I’m the first anon who said they’d fill it (and yay that someone else did too! I’ll be heading over to read it straight after I post this! Also, this is my first ever prompt attempt (and writing for Inception in general) so omg, be nice people, I hope you like this op! *sheepish look*

When Ariadne was a child she saw visions of flowers and ducks and cookies. She liked red when it was next to blue and loved pink when she could make it the sky.

When she was young her parents started taking her crayons away from her and sitting her down for long talks. She only got her colours back when she kept her ideas solely on paper.

Ariadne still ran her fingers across the wall; paper had so much less to say, and she started only working in greys. They washed off easier and after a while, her parents gave up trying to stop her.

As Ariadne got older, she began to draw different ideas; to work on the theory, history and structure of drawing. She started wanting to build - to create grand and beautiful cathedrals like Christopher Wren or ( ... )

So hopefully it won't annoy people for me to post all this at once... =/The job started easily enough. Wallace Grumit. Have I mentioned my agitation with character limits... grrr.

The next morning Ariadne was almost completely convinced that it was a coincidence and a random chance. She still didn’t know who had it, or how it had gotten there but despite her usually insatiable curiosity, she was going to leave this one alone ( ... )

“Ariadne?” The sound of Arthur’s voice made her startle and she almost spilt some of her coffee. Hurriedly shoving the picture in her pocket she spun around, half expecting him to be in the kitchen, staring at her - but he was still across the room, only now he was looking down at her design.

“Uh,” she had to make herself react as her body hesitated in the kitchen. She didn’t try to take the sugar again. “Yeah, Arthur?”

She stopped beside him, but he didn’t look up; he was frowning “The club has two points of exit?”

“One at the back, one at the front,” she confirmed, and because she couldn’t stop it, “Did you have sugar this morning?”

Ariadne had always, privately, found it rather amazing that Arthur could convey all his emotions with the exact same, understated, subtle look while giving no apparent change in expression. Currently he was incredulous. “I don’t take sugar.”

Of course, she knew that, but he was the only one here.

But not last nightWhich didn’t rule him, but it also didn’t cross off any of the others, and now she ( ... )

A few hours later after her conversation and their discovery of the rift between brother and sister - of all things, Wallace got the scholarship that Marjorie wanted and she’d never forgiven him since - she found a new photo tucked under the crack of glass in their bathroom mirror.

It was the first one that she’d decorated Paris with. She’d been enchanted, in love with the history, the people, the language and the art. The wall was a dedication to all the things Paris had to offer, wrapped in an antique design of a snow globe, given the air of a sea of falling flowers rather than snow.

It made her miss Paris, but not enough that she wasn’t able to realise the truth of the image. This had been downloaded and taken to get developed. This had been placed their with the intention of leaving it until she found it. Until only she removed it ( ... )

Slowly, Adriane headed back to the design for the dream, she placed Yusufs picture in her pocket and ran a thumb along the bishop. She didn’t need to let it fall to know she was still awake.

The rest of the photos, Ariadne stuck to her desk and around the layout of the club she was building. She smiled when she looked at them and though, it’s not a secret with them.

Multiple purchases and a design in her mind, she took her own kind of palette and went to the canvas she’d been given. A hint of a road sign caught in the edge of the shot was all she’d needed ( ... )

I think that's actually the preferred way to go about it. :)

Wallace Grumit

Any relation to Wallace & Gromit? :P

Great story, anon. I like the idea of all of them being in on it (and I'm very curious about how the hell they found out to begin with).
