Poll time!

Nov 11, 2010 14:55

In preparation for Round 10, we have a little poll for everyone. As is obvious to most everyone, Inception fandom has slowed from its initial frenzy and rounds are taking longer to fill up, so the topic of prompt limits has come up once again.

Answers are viewable only to mods, so please give us your opinion if you can.

I've heard a lot of people say they'd like to see the next post stay permanently open to prompts til the comment limit is reached. I think that is a good idea, personally, and it would make the meme feel more open and flexible to lots of us who've moved away.

Oh yes, thanks for bringing this up, good point. Something like this would require some changes (plus, we'd have to look into what that would mean for the Delicious account) but the mods are willing to consider it. And I'll make sure this is an option in the next poll.

idk, personally i get tired reading through all the prompts, too many is too much all at once. if it's ended in a nice medium i think that's a good idea. there's only so many pages i can go through before giving up.

that's just my opinion though :)

I rarely look through the actual meme pages -- I just use Delicious to narrow down prompts/fills I wanna read about, so whichever is easiest for the Delicious team is a-okay with me.

I think it's mainly just the fact that it's no longer summer and people are at school/work again. It happens.

But anyway, I don't mind it dropping to 4000.

For me, I'd rather have less time between rounds. I feel like every time I have a great bunny that I'd like filled, the meme is closed and it's quite frustrating.

I agree.

I think the amount of waiting we have to do just for the next round is a bit much, personally. I get that it's good to build up the excitement, but since the fandom isn't as manic as it was I don't think it would hurt to begin the next rounds sooner than you've been doing.

Just my 2 pence worth. :)

I agree on the point but not the statement: wait until it comes out on DVD. There'll be a huge spike of activity.

Beyond that, I do like the idea of less time between posts, or at least something posted when one round is closed that has a fixed time clock for when the next round will open. I find myself losing interest when a round hasn't opened in a while and I don't know when the next one will; it feels like, to the emotional, overreacting part of my brain, like it'll NEVER OPEN, and ALL your EFFORTS will be in VAIN.

*cough cough* My brain said it, not me.
