The closure of Delicious

UPDATE: Yahoo have confirmed via the Delicious blog that Delicious is to remain for the foreseeable future

Hopefully this will put our archive in a more secure position while we consider the need for a back up archive with another service in case this situation alters.Like a huge part of fandom, the meme is dependant on Delicious; our account has ( Read more... )

Neither option offers tag bundling. I don't know how easy organization would be for you without bundles (I know that we rely heavily on bundling at inceptiondaily), so it's something to consider. I don't think there is any delicious alternative with bundling ATM, unfortunately.

Forgot to mention that there should be at least a few weeks before delicious is shut down, since Yahoo hasn't made any official announcement as of yet. Based on the various techblog posts and the screencap that's been floating around, it's obvious that Yahoo will kill delicious (if no one takes it off their hands. *eyes Google*), but since there's no announcement yet, it will probably not happen tomorrow.

Yes, tag bundling has been the biggest obstacle I think. I was taking a look at Evernote just now and it doesn't look like they offer tag bundling either! D:

eta: also, they don't import from Delicious. /o\

I would jump for joy if Google took up Delicious. ♥

on my LJ daisy_chan just pointed out this bit in the Pinboard TOS:

Their reply was:

From Pinboard's TOS:
We reserve the right to throttle or close accounts consuming an unreasonable proportion of site resources (thousands of bookmarks per day, for example).

I AM THINKING MAYBE PINBOARD IS NOT THE BEST OPTION. D: D: D:

right now i'm leaning towards Diigo, or - what about Historious?

Check out the update at the bottom of this post. Pinboard's largest account is 60,000 bookmarks, and there is little chance that they would shut down the kinkmeme account, since it's not that huge comparatively.

I've never used pinboard, but I used diigo for one subject at uni. It seemed fine and very usable. I just didn't use it beyond that because everything else I had was already on delicious. I've notice other comms already moving to diigo.

Quick question: I already have my bookmarks saved as an HTML file, but how do I import them to Diigo? I'm not seeing an option for it anywhere.

From "My Library" go to the links at the bottom. Under "Diigo Tools" click on "Import Bookmarks."
