American Media: A Canadian Perspective

CBC's Fifth Estate made a fabulous documentary called Sticks and Stones. You can watch the whole thing from the website. It's 42 minutes well spent.

(come on, you know you want to spend some quality time with Ann Coulter today...)

I saw Outfoxed after watching this one, and was less impressed than I thought I'd be. I can't remember exactly what it was that bothered me about it though.

I was so happy to see that you can watch online. I saw it in a class last year and downloaded it, but the audio was out of synch. So frustrating.

yeah, actually i thought the CBC docu was better made although they did take a fair amount of material from outfoxed. that ann coulter chick makes my blood boil. i also found the CBC biased but that doesn't mean i don't agree and considering the extent of right-wing bias in the news there has to be some kind of balance. does the CBC claim to be fair and balanced?

i would have liked to have downloaded it but it didn't seem possible.

(yes! i am going to friend you right now)

fuck a bunch of ann coulter. we've pretty much given up the idea of getting our news anywhere other than the BBC and the Guardian.
