I visited Cloe again! And I took Rebecca and Zev with me. We brought candy, because that's what ladies of a certain age like, if you weren't aware. Sugar. Helping win the hearts and minds of preteens for more than a century.

I'm totally in support of you having chickens, as long as you understand that the nice lawn you have so lovingly cultivated will be torn to shreds by them. :)
LOVE the bird shots! And of course... the shot of Ian showing off those lovely gams! ;) Hubba hubba!
I am sorry we couldn't have coordinated a joint visit to the Ren Fest but maybe next year?
We talked about how much they look alike throughout the day.
I imagine that the chickens will stay in a chicken approved area for much of the day, meant for destruction. They will only have a certain amount of time in a day to rip up the rest of the lawn.
We should definitely do ren fest together next year. I always enjoy my time there.
When my mom got chickens, she got old ones from a neighbor's farm that would have otherwise butchered them. They didn't lay eggs regularly but we got the good feeling of running an old-chickens home and saving them from ending up in a jar (yes, they canned their chickens whole)!
They were Rhode Island Reds. They have wonderful temperaments. I highly recommend them. I do NOT recommend Bantams. They are nasty lil' thangs.
We lead a good life m'dear... Things to do, people to see!
Hmm, tough choices this time around. I think my favorite of the lot is the snake at the Ren Fest; the framing of the snake and the vibrant colors grabbed my attention and held on. You and ze babeh come in a close second on account of adorableness...
This trend of our-heads-through-comedic-signs pictures is great and I completely support its continuance. :D
Love your amazing friends, love the truly great bird pictures...and you look GORGEOUS eating French fries. Unfortunate note: I believe the art you couldn't get was a statement against abortion...make sense? Love you hugely, L
I know when I abort babies, I always do it by the buckets-full.
I am glad you like the bird pictures. I love birds. They are awesome like reptiles except they're capable of love. Well my birds are. Raptors have tiny pea-sized brains. They are good for seeing things very far away and chewing on innards.
I love you very much too. I've missed you lately, it's been a long Jewish holiday dry spell, as always in the summer.
Forgot to say about chickens...Molly told you that we had some...I loved them. The best thing is to scatter their food, sit down and just watch and listen...it's like a meditation...their sounds and movements are mesmerizing. Then also in the spring, the first day they can get outside you can really feel their pleasure at being in the sun, scratching in new ground and fluffing in the dust...a glorious event for them and for you:) And I agree with Molly, banties are not the best choice...get nice fat fluffy ones...also, the eggs will be larger...and YUM for real fresh eggs!

One year at the fair I took photos of several dozen breeds of chicken. Some day I'll use them for inspiration for gowns.

We got kicked out of the chicken building because, once again, I forgot that all of the animal buildings close really early on labor day. :(

I really like the snake too. All of the smelling us with his face was adorable. He was very calm and enjoyable to spend time with.
I will have to get a 3 picture 4x6 frame once we get the next heads-through-comedic-signs picture done and frame them all together!
