I'm like Costco. I'm big, I'm not fancy, and I dare you to not like me.

I don't know why, but this year I'm in love with fall. I want it to be cold out when I leave for work. Perhaps I have a brain tumor.

I took photographs at Walking Shadow's donor/board member party on Tuesday. Besides having a fantastic theater company with a very interesting season coming up John and Amy are the first people to ever pay me with money for taking pictures.

I was so excited when I got the message asking me to come take pictures that I missed the part where they told me I was going to get paid. Had I known, I probably would have drank less and felt even more awkward. To make up for my lack of professionalism I will buy season tickets.

I'm thinking about ditching out of Thanksgiving and taking a road trip to Little Rock, Arkansas and/or Kansas City. I don't eat dead birds anyway, and everyone knows how much I love sleeping in my car.

I also think I'm in the postpartum forgetfulness process with Burning Man where I'm remembering more of the good things than the crushing pain and misery I experienced at the time. If I can start preparing now, I might even go back next year. Burning Man or not, I want to travel more.

My wonderful and attractive parents are going to take us on a cruise in January. It's sailing out of Puerto Rico into Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten and the Virgin Islands. Hardly a dangerous, devil-may-care, accidental destination sort of vacation, but it will be more serious travel action than I have ever seen. I am stoked. I will get off at every port and drink margaritas

and float in the ocean

and not once will I go see the ice show or play mini-golf.

This I promise.
