No:) Unfortunatelly i don't speak ukarinian, but I would like to learn it. Ukrainian is more simmilar to polish than russian, but it's still foreign language. and it's not such easy like some peolple thinks. I was 2 weeks in Kiev this summer. since that I'm interested in it, and of course, want to know ukarinian. How long have you been leaving in USA? Were you born in Urainian or USA?
(sorry for the mistakes and mixed tenses - I don't speak english very well)
I don't really speak Ukrainian either, unfortunately. I know a little bit here and there, but that's about it.
I wasn't born in the USA or Ukraine, I was born in Canada. And I'm a second generation Ukrainian Canadian, meaning my grandfather was born in Ukraine, but my father and I were both born in Canada (my mother is German).
I find that interesting, that you say Ukrainian is more similar to Polish than to Russian. I would think that it would be more like Russian, due to the Russian occupation of Ukraine and heavy influence over the Ukrainian language.
Okay, I have a question for you! I was just looking through the Saskatoon Community and found your post about apartments. And then you said your name was Nadya. And that you have a roommate.
I go to school with a girl that has a roommate with your name. Is your roommate Amanda Hiron by any chance?
Sorry if I am bothering you. I just thought it was quite the coincidence. I'm Melissa by the way. :)
Haha, that is quite the coincidence...but my future roommate's name is definitely Bryce. However, Amanda Hiron sounds really familiar...is she in Agriculture at the university?
Hm, nope. Guess you aren't the same person. haha. I just thought it was rather odd that there would be two people with the same name, and you are both Ukrainian and what not.
