[...Oh.

She doesn't answer for a while, and then finally speaks up again.]

I...know.

[Her voice is just as quiet.]

Why do you say that? [A beat.] And yes, I'm feeling better. Thank you, C.C.

[ Colette watches quietly while witnessing this girl's dream. Poor girl-- is that really the things she's been through? ]

Your brother loves you very much! So please, don't be sad!

[Blink. Blink blink.

She reaches over to the Dreamberry and picks it up, staring at it for a few moments. Finally, her expression softens just a little bit.]

...I know he does. [It still doesn't help the heaviness in her heart - but she doesn't want to worry this girl.] It was...just a dream, after all.

But the dream... it was so sad!

[ She inches closer to the device; face stern. ] You've got to be brave! For you brother, and yourself, too!

I know you can do it!

Everyone has bad dreams, don't they?

[At the outburst, she blinks, surprised again.] Ah...of course. I'll try my best, then.

[Lelouch didn't particularly want to look at this dream. He never wanted to see anything like this, to see what he knew was true and what he knew would break his heart. But a part of him knew he should look at it, if only so he could provide comfort should this be a nightmare and his beloved little sister need it.

His room is quiet, the silence only broken by his staggered breathing and troubled voice on his Dreamberry.

After the dream ends, he lays his Dreamberry down on the bed beside him and debates what course of action he should take. Hurt by the contents of the dream, though not surprised, he takes a moment to compose himself before moving from the bed. With Nunnally only a few steps away, he could easily go to her, and that's what he intended to do. It wouldn't be proper for him to call her back and ask if she was okay. She means more to him than to do something like that.

Racing down the stairs, Lelouch quickly makes his way to his little sister, pausing before opening the door.]

Nunnally...

[His voice is quiet as ( ... )

[Nunnally heard the movements before she heard his voice. It made her heart sink - he had...really seen what she had dreamed, huh? At this point, she knew what had happened - Somarium had decided to broadcast the things she so often dreamed about. The dream wasn't what she was upset about (now), it was the fact that Lelouch had seen it. Never had she wanted to worry him so much. This was exactly why she had tried to be as careful as she could.

Though, nobody could exactly control their dreams, could they?

When he opens the door and speaks her name, she pushes herself up into a sitting position. It takes her a moment to respond, because she doesn't want to upset him more.]

Come in, Lelouch...

[Her fists clench just a little, grabbing her sheets and keeping a tight hold on them.]

[After hesitating at the door upon hearing her voice, Lelouch slowly moves to the side of her bed, kneeling and placing a hand on her clenched fist. There was nothing he could say and nothing he could do to make this any easier (and, truthfully, he's not even sure that his presence is helping the matter)... but he couldn't just sit there and let this pass as if nothing had happened, especially when she is now only a staircase away.

Words fail him as the grip on her fist tightens ever so slightly.]

My precious sister...

[His eyes turn upwards, searching for her face in the darkness.]

Is there anything I can say or do to take this pain away?

[When she feels him take her hand, she feels herself tense slightly. The initial panic after waking up is starting to come back to her--what if he disappears? What if he 'wakes up'?

She knows she couldn't bear with losing him again. As much as his presence soothed her, it also made her all even sadder. How long would this last?

She doesn't say anything for a long time, concentrating on calming herself down. He's worried, she can tell. It's just a dream. Right?

So she takes a deep breath and relaxes her hands, putting her free hand on top of his. She takes hold of it in a strong, but not painful grip, one that says she's not going to let go anytime soon.

But what could she say? He had killed countless people, killed parts of their family, and had emotionally changed Suzaku after Euphemia's death. He had used his Geass on her, his only sister. Though she knows now it was an effort to keep her safe, but there could have been something -- anything ( ... )
