Overall, a nice weekend.  Hung out with Tadd and PK where we played some Smash Bros Brawl, and a little bit of Beautiful Katamari.

Red Sox opened their first game this morning at 6:00ET in Japan.  Daisuke Matsuzaka started the game off a little rocky giving up a couple of runs early.  We were behind for most of the game, but ending the ninth inning, a new guy, Brandon Moss, who was replacing an injured J.D. I heard that Arthur C. Clarke died today.  He was the co-author of 2001: A Space Odyssey and the author of it's sequels.  He was a great writer and a great visionary.  Rather than write sci-fi books that were based on unrealistic concepts he wrote books based on what he saw as a likely future, and though we haven't reached as far as Clarke had ( Read more... )

The so called "War on Drugs" is complete and utter bullshit.  It's a complete waste of our time, resources, and money.  It accomplishes absolutely nothing positive.  Their is no evidence to suggest that the demand for drugs has gone down, and at the same time, the level of potency and the variety of drug choices has gone up significantly.

I passed the test I took last week for TSA.  I believe all I need to do is pass a drug test, background check, credit check, and all those other basic screening processes.  And an interview.  However, none of this guarantee's a job still.  It just means that I will be considered as job positions open up.

I'm taking my first test towards becoming a TSA tomorrow.  It will last about 2 1/2 hours and they won't say what the test is about.  I've heard that these tests are more difficult than you would think, but I'm not too nervous about them.  If I get the job I get the job.  If I don't, then I guess I wasn't meant to get the job.  Being nervous will ( Read more... )

I will have to start reading George Orwell's 1984 again.  I started reading this book but never finished as I gave myself the duty to lend my brain to a friend and play editing consultant to a recently written novel.  I don't know why I've never read 1984 before as I loved Aldous Huxley's A Brave New World.
