This was incredible - I clicked knowing that it was a line from Transatlanticism and I was not disappointed! If I read Ohmiya, I prefer to read something a little darker, a little grittier, a little more complicated. Got that in spades here with this piece.

I like the way this flowed, liked the choice of tense - it almost made the whole story hypothetical and yet it felt so real. I don't know how to explain really, but it seemed perfect.

Really great descriptions and details - the toilet in the jimusho, the gap between Ida's teeth, Ohno waiting in the hallway with his baseball cap on. And the opening was kind of a blunt slap to the face and really set the tone for the whole thing. This was excellent.
