In life, we make choices, from the first minute we are born until the minute we die, we make choices. the first few years of our lives we have our parents to aid our choice making. They help craft our minds to how they would see any given scenario, shape us into them via many protocol. The more we age we gain more responsibility which piles on more ( Read more... )

One thing you didn't think of though, is while your making your choices, you also have to decide on how long to take on them. i think i might have touched a bit into that when i explained how i percieved it. while you do have a point, it fits in almost perfectly with what i was trying to express, Life only goes as fast as you can percieve it, if you take time to think when you get the chance is when you make your major choices, like i explained i do. Choice is wonderful though, you chose before you even got through the first paragraph in this that you would most likely comment on it. Thats how lightning fast our choice making has become, and believe it or not, we do need to slow it down quite often to fully evaluate many situations that we shrug off as unimportant simply because it doesn't pertain to us as much as others.

"To completely stand still on my path was the option which i had picked. I then sat myself down and took a long look at the paths branching from where i was sitting. That was when i realized that i had been missing so much of life by simply walking so quickly down it towards adulthood. It was when i realized that i needed to stop and smell the roses in the morning as well as the clean crisp night air."

You're lucky you're able to do that.
I'm trying to do something like it, I mean, I'm trying to talk to my mother about my future and what options I have. (Note the word "trying". Implies "failing".)
And basically, I live (we all live) in a world where we are crammed into this mold to fulfill expectations-- and we're shoved down this metaphorical path, to college and work and growing up, when maybe thats actually not the best thing just yet.
I hate the system.
Sadly, being sixteen means I have no choice.

I hope you enjoy the scenery along your path.
