Valentine's Day is such a troublesome holiday, no matter how profitable it might be. Even though I organised everything a month in advance, my telephone won't stop ringing... Really, I can't wait until this month is over. I'm sick of all this extra work already. I'd much rather be playing Pokémon, it's been hard to find the time to continue it. But ( Read more... )

There must be a reason to go through such trouble, then. Are you perhaps betrothed to this Elizabeth?

Yes. She's my cousin and my fiancée, so I'm unfortunately obliged to send her a gift.

Is the arrangement not of your own choosing, then?

Of course it's not. Were it up to me, I wouldn't be engaged at all.

It's unfortunate that girls do not give boys chocolates on Valentine's Day or perhaps it would be your favourite holiday after all.

[... Oh, that does sound like a good day...]

Unfortunate indeed. I think Elizabeth would give me enough to last the rest of the year, if that were the case. It doesn't particularly matter, though, because you'll still be giving me chocolates on Valentine's Day. [And there had better be a lot of it.]

Naturally. But you should be careful what you say in public, young master. Some people here might misconstrue your meaning.

I don't really care what anyone who has the time to read my conversations with others thinks I mean, especially if they're lacking in common sense so much that they could really interpret it that way.

Oh! So you're enjoying Pokemon?

It's not February where I am, so Oz and I aren't doing anything special for it. Can I ask why your phone keeps ringing?

I am. Thank you very much, Willow.

Of course. My phone keeps ringing because Valentine's Day is a large event for toy and confectionery companies, and everyone is making sure that everything is perfect and to my exact specifications, because they know that the Funtom Company cannot be anything less than perfect.

You're welcome. Don't mention it; I'm just glad you're having fun with it.

I forgot you run a company. No wonder you get calls all the time... Still, it sounds less annoying than, um, Elizabeth shrieking.

I've heard there are others, from later on; I suppose I'll have to collect them, too, once I'm finished with this one.

That may be true, but I only have to tolerate Elizabeth for a maximum of an hour before Aunt Francis forces her to hang up, and it's an excuse to take a break from work. Meanwhile, the idiots calling me for trivial and stupid things are a nuisance for at least three days.
