Am reading Peter Crouch's book and it's quite good! Not as funny and straight forward as Stevie's but it's a decent enough read. I prefer Stevie's, simply because it was written in a more personal way than Peter's.
The team is not the only thing Rafa Benitez likes to keep on a rotation basis. It's the same when it comes to hotel room-mates. On various occasions I've been paired with Robbie and with Jermaine Pennant, and in the second half of 2006-07 I was paired with Javier Mascherano. He's a great person, and learning English quickly, but I can't say the banter between us was exactly fying. I've never known anyone to study English so hard, and when he finally finishes 'The Count of Monte Cristo' maybe he can read this book. Javi and I had to pull our single beds further apart at the hotel we stay in outside Liverpool before home games. One wrong move while I sas asleep and I would wake up with one of my long arms wrapped around my Argentine room-mate.
XD The mental image of gangly Peter Crouch using tiny Mascherano as a teddy bear... LOL.
Oh, and another little part I thought was funny..
The hotel we were allocated outside Athens was atrocious, like an old people's home, and the rooms were terrible. I've still got a picture on my phone or Robbie in Bolo Zenden's bathroom. It was so small that he could sit on the toilet seat and was his hands in the sink with one leg in the shower - all at the same time. Rafa Benitez came in to see what were laughing about and decided that was the final straw. We were all moved to better rooms.
I can easily picture Robbie doing just that! XD
Anyway, many of you have wondered about why I want to quit my job already. Thing is, they've simply been terribly unproffesional. When I was there for an intetrview, I was promised a shift plan, 36-40 hrs a week etc. I haven't heard another word about that to this day and instead, they call me 45 minutes before they want me in at work! I got a phone call the other day at 10:15 and they wanted me to come in sharpish.
Another evening, I worked from 6pm-11pm (which means 11:30 because we're never finished on time) and at 10:45 my assistant manager comes up and tells me that I have to work the breakfast shift the next morning, starting at 6am. So yeah, basically she wanted me to go home at 11:30, be home around midnight, be asleep at (hopefully) 1am, up again at 4am, at work at 6 and staying there until 3pm. That's illegal and I was just about to tell them but opted for saying that no, I can't come in and work for 9 hrs after 3 hrs sleep. No chance. And then she proceeded to be pissed off because I refused to come in. Fucksakes.
So yesterday I had a walk around town, handing out some more CVs in different places. And hopefully some will get back to me soon.
Went to Newz last night. Was much better than the first time I was there, thank god :P Was not impressed back then. We were intending to go to Mosquito, but when we got there it turned out the whole venue had been hired for a private party :P (better not have been the Liverpool guys, the day before a match! ;) so we opted for Newz down the road instead. Good thing I know a few of the bouncers already, 'cause there was mile long que outside. And jam packed inside. Was a good night though.
I dunno what I'll do about the match today. I'm considering to walk the ten minutes up to Anfield and watch in one of the pubs up there, but dunno if I can be bothered.
