Am obviously ecstatic about the results today, but will post more on that tomorrow when I'm more awake.

For now, let me say this (and I don't really care if anyone feels offended by this entry because ffs); I am so bloody tired of people who consider themselves to be 'die hard fans' who 'know the game of football' and then, when all comes down ( Read more... )

Okay, so I've pretty much edited this three times, and I can't see to say what I'm trying to say. I do, however, believe that each person has their own way of expressing their love for a team. Fangirls are fucking annoying beings and yes, I have indulged regularly in the physical oggling of our boys and I don't deny that, nor am I ashamed, but to feel embarrassed to the point of persecution? It's not fair.

As for your comments about (Those of you who (un)knowingly live in happy bubbles; good for you. Keep flying. Good luck. And buy yourself a parachute for when it bursts, because it will.), I can't say I agree. There's nothing wrong with having a positive outlook; a realistically positive. Not something stupid and rolling around in your own little personal bubble, but it's not a crime to have a nice take on things ( ... )

not the most thought out response (apologies), as it's Verr Early in the morning, but OMG: you guys. the rafa supporting march brought tears to my eyes (okay: giggles and genuine heartfelt love mixed a bit, but) and made me only wish and wish we could have done the same for jose before it was too late *sigh*. so much respect.

I hear ya. You should see the plethora of so called 'football fans' I come across over here. When Manchester United were dominating for years, every bastard I met was a United fan. Favourite player? "David Beckham" Then when Arse(hole)nal started going well, every fucker was a Gunners fan and all the shops had Arsenal jerseys for sale by the bucketload. Then when those twats Chelsea started killing it, guess what? Every person you met went for Chelsea ( ... )

Look at the game I went to over here the other night between Sydney F.C and L.A Galaxy.

That was fucking ridiculous, I completely agree with you. I've hated it ever since they announced there'd be an exhibition match. Everyone was all for it as it'd expand A-League's appeal and all these people that came would magically be all "oh, soccer! this is kinda fun, maybe i'll go again" Life doesn't work like that. They went for Beckham and it was so wrong. Defeated whatever purpose they thought would be achieved. Nothing was gained, except selling a fuckload of Beckham shirts and hysteria in the country. I know it completely goes against my argument, but fuck that.

You know what's going to happen right? The next Sydney F.C game that's played will be back to the average attendance of 16,000 (one of which is me since I'm a devoted season ticket holder but that's besides the point). The other fuckers won't bother their arses. And L.A Galaxy are pish anyways. They haven't qualified for the playoffs in the States for like five years or some shit. One man doth not maketh a team, to quote...someone.

Exactly- I don't see why the fuck it was done in the first place. Maybe Brosque got the attention of some coaches overseas and we lose more talent, but that is seriously the only positive I see out of it. Ticket attendance isn't going to change, the mentality isn't going to change, and it's not as though LA Galaxy are a good team to play against either, like you said. I still don't understand why the FFA thought it was a brilliant idea. Oh, hang on. It's the FFA. *eyerolls* I wonder if they've got us a coach yet...
