Because this is the least I can do

I've been posting about Libya, Bahrain, and to a lesser extent, WI, USA and the Pence amendment on Tumblr, but just in case any of you haven't been paying attention to the news (because the media is very inadequately covering all of this, in my opinion):

Is it because Egypt is more important to the western world politically and financially that western governments seem to be suspiciously quiet regarding what's going on in Libya and Bahrain? I mean, the violence that occurred in Egypt was nothing compared to this, and yet America and Germany, for example, were all over Egyptian authorities if they resorted to violence. Now this and we get nothing? I feel like Egypt was definitely way, way more in the spotlight.

One of the arguments has been that it has been extremely difficult to report from Libya. But I fully agree with you. Egypt has had more coverage due to self-interest, imo.

To be fair, Libya is apparently working a lot harder on keeping the media shut down, so I think that's why there hasn't been as much coverage on it. At least, that's what I was informed of in class today.

Yep. I mentioned that in another comment.

I read that the Libyan government is actually cleaning the streets of blood and dead bodies because BBC is coming. They want to silence all of this. Plus, it's apparently very difficult for reporters to go into Libya.

... HAHA, wow I'm dumb. |D

Seriously? That's just. :/ The fact they think they can keep this all quiet is ridiculous. And yeah, I'm not surprised at that.
