Thanks for sharing this info, I was incredibly angry at my dad today because he was telling my niece not to worry about the people of Japan. His reasoning was that "Everyone knows Japan is a wealthy country, they have money, they can fix it themselves."

I about slapped him, but he's been sick and he's getting old, so I couldn't- but the temptation was ridiculously strong. I did talk to my niece and we texted the red cross to donate through my phone a little while later though.

The sad thing is, he isn't the first person I've heard say something like that. At the restaurant I work at people were being jerks about it today too.

That's sad. People sometimes lack empathy when the tragedy isn't happening to us. A lot is being done by the people of Japan, but when they're in the midst of a tragedy, it can be tough doing it all on your own.

Thanks for posting all of this. I hope ppl give and we can really help them out!! Alas, I've heard more ppl bitching about how 'omg Japan never helped us so I'm not helping them' via the internet more then anything else, but just proves to me there are just rotten ppl in the world....
