Welcome to Sunnydale?

Ok, check this; I get a call from some guy last week telling me my older sister Isabella's been hurt and that she had to be hospitalized. So, being the good sister I am, I take the first flight I can get and jet out to Cali. Of course, Iz being who she is, wasn't all that happy to see me. Just 'cause SHE doesn't keep in touch with any of us that ( Read more... )

I walk into the kitchen waiting looking for Stef, hoping to avoid Izzy, finding India instead. I go into the fridge grab a coke and take a seat at the island. I'm a stupid man for thinking I shouldn't be avoiding this one too. Instead, I watch her for a few minutes before she notices I'm here. I smile,"Hello."

I jump a little and turn the water off at the sink when I notice him there. "Hey Vince, I was just washing up a few dishes, I didn't even hear you come in."

I dry my hands off before walking over and leaning on the island across from him. "Are you here to get Stefan?"

"Nah, him and Izzy were getting the rest of her stuff at the apartment squared away and I figured I'd give 'em some alone time."

"Oh, I thought they were back already." I smile at him and go get a soda from the fridge. "It was very cool of you to come and keep me company, though." I open my drink and take a seat across from him again.

"Any idea how long they'll be gone?"

I smile at him as he drives down the road. "That's a good start. You let me know if you think of anything else later."

We pull up to a club, and even from the car I can hear the music coming out of it. Wonder if I can get him to dance with me?

We walk into the club. I steer her towards a table. The waitress comes by and asks for our drink order. Ignoring, or trying to at least the las comment she flew at me. "So India, tell me about yourself."

I lean forward and rest my arms on the table. Well, this is different. "Hmm, not much to tell, really. I live in New York City, which you already knew." The waitress brings our drinks and I take a sip before continuing.

"I worked at a recording studio as a receptionist for most of the past couple of years, but um, I had to quit to come out here for Iz. But they wouldn't give me the time off, and well, she's more important than a job." I shrug and take another drink. "What I really want to do is work for a museum, as a curator. I took some classes back in the city, but I ended up having to quit. Couldn't afford it anymore." I smile at him. "Oh, and Iz doesn't know yet that I had to quit my job, so don't tell her, 'k?"

I kinda chuckle. Don't tell Izzy, yeah that sounds like a good plan. But damn me if I don't say "I wont tell her. Museum curator? Funny I always picture a stuffy old british guy in glasses when I think of a curator, not someone that looks like you." Not believing I just said that. "Whats the attraction to museums? What is it you like about them?"

I decide to give him a break, since he's not my usual type. Can't really see him going for the casual sex thing, and I'm actually wanting to get to know more than just what he'd look like in my bed. The song ends, so I step back from him a little relunctantly. "That was nice, thank you, Vince."

I can't help but give him one of my trademark looks as I lead him back to the table, still holding his hand. "Feel like another drink before we call it a night?"

Regret sorta creeps in as she pulls awya, I wanna keep dancing with her. It's for the best though. Getting hung up on a girl that i really have no business even wanting is just a catagorically bad idea. She's too young, she's Izzy's sister, she's beautiful and fascinating. "No thank you, India."

Not ready to part company yet, "Sure one more drink, then I'll take you home." Only letting go of her hand to sit dowm. I smile at her. "So, tell me more about yourself. How did you like living in New York? If you and Izzy get things worked out how long do you think you'll stay?"

I shrug at the New York question. "It was ok, but to be rather honest, I've gotten tired of it. Don't get me wrong, it's a great city to live in, and I had a lot of fun..." I kind of smile at the thought of some of the fun I had there, things he'd be better off not knowing. "...a LOT of fun, but it's kinda old."

I look him straight in the eye and take a sip of my new drink. "I think I'm ready for something new. If I can get Iz to actually talk to me, I might just totally move here so I can be closer to her."

"Yeah, I hear ya on it getting old part. Born and raised there for the most part, myself. Don't think I woulda wanted it any other way. But after working for the city and well for other reasons, staying on an extended vacation seems like a good option." I see the look she get when thinking about her time there. I'm sure I don't want to know. "That kinda fun was more Stefs department."

"I'm sure you and her will work things out. When she's not ticked, she's actually alright to talk to. Unlike my brother, who seems to only have that one mode."
