Spoilers for Season 7 up to 7.07 - French Twist
Lorelai and Christopher get married? Married? That's . . . that's . . . I'm not even really sure what to say.
In some respects I have almost no reaction to this because I emotionally distanced myself from the show when Lorelai and Luke ended so horribly, but I still feel marginally surprised. This is the direction the writers wanted to go? I have to wonder why. Does this last? Lorelai doesn't seem particularly thrilled about it so I want to say that it doesn't, but who knows. Is this what the writers always wanted? Sure, Christopher has been gradually becoming something more and more resembling a decent human being but . . . I don't know, it still doesn't seem right.
Honestly, I feel like the show has kind of already ended in my head. I watch more because I still find the writing entertaining than because I have any emotional investment left.
I'm having a strong urge to re-watch the wonderful early Luke/Lorelai episodes when I still cared. Okay, so I still care a little, but not as much as I once did.
