I think that Six is Gina? But it's been a while since I saw it so I'm not sure. She broke my heart too. She's so, so horribly abused. I think these episodes really bring home the idea that the line between human and Cylon is very fuzzy indeed, when humans can be so inhuman and Cylons can be so human.

I felt the exact same about Admiral Cain. Absolute bitch, she really just needed a bullet in her head! And I'm generally not a violent person.

I love the way her stripping the fleet is a more extreme version of what Roslin had to do at the very beginning, though. The original Galactica fleet had to abandon all the ships without FTL drives. Cain made a similar decision, only more so, if you know what I mean.

I am actually jealous that you have so much of this show to watch still. :)

I love a fuzzy villain. ;-) By which I mean the same thing that you do, one with shades of gray. Cylons are more and more becoming not just the killing machines they first appeared to be. Much more interesting than a purely evil foe ( ... )

That cylon is Gina but some fans refer to her as PegaSix. It makes her easier to keep track of!

Ah, Gina. Poor Gina. I feel so horrible for her. Yes, she was a murderer but . . . And watching Gaius' interaction with her - he's so careful, so tender . . . gah! It just gets to me. I never thought that I'd feel so sorry for a cylon. I like that the cylons are appearing more and more human.

What did you think of Cain and what was going on? Nutty as I do?

Can't wait to see how the duel assassinations play out!

I totally remember my reaction to that arc. I was horrified at Admiral Cain but also at the way her attitude had filtred down to the others. It made me realise how much I appreciated the way that Adama and Roslin were guiding the fleet at that point. I also love the storyline with Chief and the rest of the crew with the Blackbird. It's such a great symbol of what they're trying to accomplish.

One scene which really horrified me was the one that set off the Chief and Helo to go save Sharon. The Pegasus crew talking and laughing about raping the cylon on their ship. I was so disgusted and shocked at how okay they thought it was. *shudder*

I did love the way the Blackbird brought the crew together, gave them something to do, something the believe in.

The storyline with Sharon is part of why I barely watch those episodes and often skip scenes when I rewatch. I just can't handle it. BSG is one of very few shows that has produced such a deep, horrified reaction in me.

I really love Cain as a character, while hating a lot of the things she does. But that's just me. Of course, narratively, you are supposed to hate her because the show uses her to set up more love/trust in Adama and Roslin.

May I ask what it was about Cain as a character that you liked, while still hating what she did?

I have to admit that I did like how Adama and Roslin were brought closer by her actions. Because, who else can they really rely on and confide in but each other? The scene where Roslin gives him the pins (or whatever they are) to be an admiral really touched me.

The boy keeps saying that they just need to get it on already. haha.
