For all you artistic people out there, I need your help! I can paint the walls in my new apartment, and have had my heart set on doing an accent wall in my bedroom ever since I signed the lease. you're not going to like this but: something along the lines of navy blue.

I actually like that idea. My only concern is that my furniture is painted black wood, and I don't want my room to be super dark. I'll definitely pick up some navy paint swatches though!

I don't know anything about working with whole fields of color or room decor, but if it were a painting I would surround such a drafty yellow (which looks like a wispy Naples yellow and lead-tin yellow) with a bit more intense of a blue, like Ultramarine.

You'd be living on Vermeer's palette!
