That's why you have to tell him to not talk at all, even when you're done, so that he knows how you feel and he can ponder it without saying anything else in his defense or yours.

not that this is helpful, but here is part of my take on this situation: it's a male thing. fathers and sons bond in a totally different way. so, as much as it's terrible and he needs to step up his dad-game (which he does because you should never feel anything but showered with joy and affection) think about how focused your mom would be on you in this situation. I really think it's a very intense father-son thing. and talking to him might just not work and you might need to lean heavily on your mama because Paul is just the focus for your dad right now. also, BE MAD AT HIM. both of them, actually. anger is good for you, Moo. It's safe. I love you.
