I just saw an amazing indian movie called "taare zameen par", it was so good cause it was about something that is so serious but not so easily understood by the indian culture, it was about an 8 year old kid with a learning disability, dyslexia, and how hard it was for him and what people have to do to understand him and vice versa, i probably ( Read more... )

i'm pretty sure your culture has a long way to go before you can call it open-minded if accepting a kid with dyslexia is a big step. maybe they should start by giving their women some rights

yup, they sure do, why do you think i hate most of them? and it wasn't so much accepting the kid, it was understanding his condition and working around it that they didn't get initially. also what i meant by them being more open minded is how they can now make a movie which is not a romantic comedy/action/drama but one with a positive message and have it be a commercial/critical success there and abroad when a decade or two ago it probably wouldn't have.
