He also wrote Less Than Zero, Glamorama, and Lunar Park.

Theyre all good, but read Less Than Zero first. It's his first book and it's a pretty easy read. It was subsequently made into a seminal 80s movie starring Robert Downey Jr. as a raving drug addict.

Those are his most famous ones, though I haven't read any of his stuff yet. It's on my to do list. I did watch American Psycho not too long ago and I couldn't help thinking it had such an introspective feel, that it would have been a much better read than a watch.

Was I right?

In my opinion, the book was much more gruesome than the movie was. That movie is one of my all-time favorites, but I couldn't even stomach some parts of the book, and I'm not usually squeamish at all.
