this is an idea i have had for awhile..i think this country considers its self a melting pot so why shouldn't we have a month that embraces all races instead of just one. i mean in all honesty i think that it would be great to have a month dedicated to just learning about all culures residing in america: asians, germans , italians, africans, ( Read more... )

They sort of do that here down under but it's not a specific month really, random and all over the place - ie OctoberFest for the Germans, & other dates relevant to that group's country. plus on Australia Day all the different groups have festival things on or whatever {which is govt endorsed}. Also various seasonal festivals have sections where say art/film/comedy etc from different cultures is represented. I'm kinda surprised that they don't do it over there, I really thought that there was more of it there than here.

things are good but i wish they did have that over here. we have a whole month dedicated to african americans but i find that to be a slightly discrimanting because there are cultures from the whole world living here and i think its insulting to the rest of the world cultures living here when instead it should be a month dedicated to all cultures

I think that is an excellent idea to embrace every culture.

i agree and for the past month i think all the cultures get overlooked and i think instead one culture getting a month we should embrace all the cultures during the month of feb...i want too see if i can make that really happen one day .a multi cultural month in the month of feb

Why specifically in the month of Feb? It's already Valentines day month. Hmm how about - Well why not Feb. I was trying to think of a month that had nothing in it but I couldn't.
