The past few days have been blissfully uneventful. First time in ages.

I did manage to get some Christmas shopping done on Monday as planned. The shops were fairly empty and there were no hordes of people - hurrah! I did spend some money on myself in Waterstones where there was some reasonably priced fiction on offer (as joysilence has also observed!). I

I'm glad you found something nice in Waterstones! One positive effect of my mental health medication is that it's significantly screwed up my memory, and memory loss combined with age means that I've lately really gotten into re-reading stuff that I remembered fairly well only a year ago but have now completely forgotten :D So the Virago Ghost Stories are getting trotted out again, and I'm also enjoying the Edith Nesbit stories I've already read! Every cloud has a silver...er..how does that proverb go again? ;)

I love Madmen too, for precisely the reasons you mention, but for some reason I kept missing it when it was on :( I hope they repeat it soon.

I'm sure they will repeat Mad Men - it's been a while now since it aired here. I know that Season Two has just finished in the US, which is what makes me think it will all return to our screens shortly. :)
