Yes YES YES. God, the state of it all is fucking depressing. I'm hoping for a backlash very soon, but whether it'll happen given the state of the music industry and its interest only being in 'what sells'... Having said that, perhaps that's the point? Because it seems that the hype and the bullshit isn't working as well as it used to - apparently live gigs took more money than record sales last year.
